I would like to introduce you my blog. The title looking through the glass prism has a complex meaning. Let's start with the term The Prism. The prism, like in optics causes that the visible light is separated into the range of colors. The way we see an object depends on how we look at it. In fact, the prism, i.e., the people, art and the tradition are the main concern in this blog, but in the end it is all about the city. Why GLASS prism? There is nothing we can do with the fact that those outstanding artists simply passes away, likewise each men building on tradition. The city in turn- is everlasting.
During my collage years once I came across an autobiography of very prominent polish social activist. I still remember my excitement after I found out that he actually had lived, for a certain period of time, in the same city as me then. Maybe it sounds silly but at the time, it seemed to me fascinating that this man was walking through exactly the same streets, was passing by the same buildings... even though slightly changed. That moment was the first time when I was truly thinking about this inscrutable connection between the past and the present. Now, I hosting a blog aimed to reach this elusive goal.
I agree if you say that, what is now is not the same as hundred years ago. The passage of time distorts everything what exist. Anyway, I am fully convinced that the essence or the spirit of the city never changes. My intention is to give you only a new insight, a completely new perspective.
So... let me take you on a journey- we starting with Barcelona.
